More good mail stories...Before we left North Carolina, Dustin and I went to an art show our friend Jody (sorry she doesn't have a website) was having at the Electric Moustache Gallery in Winston-Salem. Upon walking into the space, we were both floored by her collection of work--she used amazing colors and the scale of each painting was wonderful. Even though we were about to embark on a big move and were pretty poor (moving is not cheap), we couldn't resist buying one of her lovely paintings, which we justifed by making it an anniversary present to ourselves. After purchasing the painting, we had a few logistical things to work out. Things we didn't think of before writing the check. For starters, the show had weeks left before it was coming down and we were leaving in two days. What did we do? Well, we had her ship it up to us once we got settled. Scary as it was (the shipment could have gone horribly wrong -- bless you UPS) it made it to our door last week in great condition and now hangs beautifully in our living room.
Now if we could find a sofa we like, we might just be in business. More on the sofa search later...that's a post in itself.
Before I go, I wanted to thank everyone who sent comments and kind emails about my current seasonal blues. Your words mean a lot to me. A lot.
