my home away from home.

Hello there,

As promised, I'm checking in to say hello and give a little update. The last week has been wonderful here at camp. The campers don't arrived until tomorrow --geeeesh!, but we've spent the last several days preparing, getting to know and love the new people on our staff and  reconnecting with staff from  last year and/or years past. We've had camp fires and turns on the ropes course. We've swam and played music {this year has been coined the summer of the drummer since we have a shiny new Ludwig drum kit to play}  We've cleaned and reorganized our supplies and really tried to have as much fun as possible before 200 teenagers arrive and create a different place entirely --mostly in terms of volume.

I hope to check in again soon, but I'm in the woods and loving the time away from the computer, so only time will tell how that plays out.
here are some snaps to show what my world looks like lately.

I love how the sun shines in the dining hall in the morning. you may recognize the chairs from this photo from last year.

It reminds me so much of The Parent Trap! Hope you have fun.

So green. The dining room looks like the mess tent of Camp Cadicasu. So cool to be part of these special memories to so many kids!

Awesome! Reminds me of camp from the 1970's. Love the dining hall.

Your blog is like vacation for me at the moment. I have to work through summer but feel just a tiny bit as though I were out in the green, when I look at your pictures. Thanks.

we love camp! i am so jealous you get to go for 5 weeks each summer. i hope to spend many future summers at our camp fire "camp wintaka" when my daughters start going, although i am not sure they will really want their mama there with them! :)

Wow, Camp! Brings back memories! I used to love going. I went when I was age 11-13 and it was so much fun. The staff were always the best part!
