The perfect lunch for a cold and rainy day -- creamy tomato soup is one of the most comforting things to me, it always has been.

Thanks for all the sweet comments about the paper doily mobile I created. It was very easy to make and it hangs  beautifully in the place of this for now. If you only knew the kind of wind-chime/mobile fascination that runs in my family, you would understand why I am driven to hang things from above. It's in my genes.

The weekend is almost here. I'm hoping to finish my contribution to the mid-winter gocco swap and maybe even do some work on a painting project I've been playing around with. We'll see...I'm might just see movies and read with a cat or two in my lap.

To conclude a week of simple questions (thanks again for all of your wonderful simple answers -- it's been fun), I've been thinking a bit about being smack in the middle of winter and how that influences my mood and my productivity (if only I were a knitter). Don't get me wrong, I really like winter. I might even love it at times. It's just a different rhythm. Slower and quieter.
Do you have favorite things about Winter?

Happy weekend, friends

Perfect bread, just the right amount of holes and fluffiness!

I love the way winter looks. There is nothing more beautiful then frost creeping up your bedroom window, or the way snow sparkles in the early morning sun, and the dancing of naked tree branches on the sides of houses.

sweaters and big blankets and being cozy. you just can't do that in the summertime.

i love your soup photo...it sort of is the essence of winter...warmth, comfort...that seems to be what i love most about winter.

soup looks great! yummy.

I love your mobile too - I'm doing one for Elsie Marley's swap and have done the "bits" but am trying to figure out how to hang them. Can you throw some of your DNA my way please?!

Here, here on the tomato soup. I had some the other day with whole wheat cous cous in it--really good!

This may sound silly, but one thing I love about winter is how it causes me to daydream about spring and summer...

the chance of snow...
