Today is my little brother's birthday. He's 22 (man, being 22 sure was fun--I'm jealous).
I wouldn't dare embarrass him with stories about how he routinely barged into my room throughout high school (usually wearing ninja turtle pajamas) or how he carried a stuffed bear around for years, but I will send him lots of love and happy birthday wishes.

sorry things have been so quiet around here. I can't seem to get it together to post much lately. things are hectic and I've been feeling a little on the quiet side. I haven't been grabbing my camera as much lately either, well, until the other day when I caught motown sleeping in the sun. he appeared to be glowing and looked very intent on soaking up as much sun as possible. I am fairly certain he rolled his eyes at me after I woke him with the click of my camera. it's okay. I would have done the same thing.

although it probably seems as though I've fallen down the rabbit hole, I promise I haven't -- I have spent the last few weeks completely absorbed in school (a rabbit hole of sorts, I suppose).  only about a month to go before summer break.  just thinking of it makes me let out a little squeak.
D and I are already planning an early summer camping trip to celebrate the end of the semester  speaking of, if you happen to know any beautiful camping spots in WV, MD, or VA, please let me know.

spring is definitely starting to emerge here in Philadelphia. today was glorious. not quite warm enough for my new sandals, but close. it's only a matter of time.

hello there.

things here in curiousbirdland are moving right along. the weekend was wonderfully lazy, something I really needed since last week was such a doozy in the school department.  I successfully made it through midterms and all of the paper writing, but I was fried by the end. totally fried. I did manage to treat myself to some rewards after it was all over. I mean, I promised myself, so I had to follow through...

I'm such a plant nerd that I rewarded myself with a really amazing pencil cactus I have had my eye on. I also  purchased Molly's book, which I, like everyone else, highly recommend. honestly, I could not put it down and read it in one day. it made for a pretty perfect saturday afternoon, actually.   I'm really looking forward to trying some of the recipes -- pickled grapes might be the first one I go for. I'm very intrigued...and a pickle fiend.
