Loving my new gingham dress. It hasn't been in my closet that long, but I would guess I have already worn it at least three times. I tend to do that with stuff I really like. Doesn't everyone?
I used the Built by Wendy Simplicity pattern #3692, the same one that I used way back when. But unlike last time, this one was a breeze. The sleeveless version makes it great for layering, although, Dustin informed me this morning that he likes it better without the little tee under it. I will take that into consideration. Thank you very much.
I can see another one of these dresses in my future. Quite possibly by sundown.
More sewing adventures to show you soon.
Have fun,
L.

that dress is amazing. a dress by sundown? oh how i envy you! i buy patterns and fabric but then get frustrated by 'following directions' and do my own thing. guess who never makes wearable things?

It looks great! I normally avoid garment sewing like the plague because I get so frustrated but you make it look so easy!

Hi! This dress is indeed great and inspiring! I have this pattern at home, and I'd love to try it, but I have a question:
This pattern is for stretch fabrics. So, when you're not using stretch fabric, did you go up a size? Does it matter?
Exciting! I really need to pony up and actually take a crack at something like this! Congratulations on your productivity!

I used a cotton/rayon blend for this dress.
Also, good question, Jen. Since I didn't use a stretch fabric, I went up a size, although, I had to take it in a little on the side seams for it to fit just so.
