Okay, so this little re-do isn't the most exciting project I have ever done (and the photos could be better), but the
table was free (a curb-side find given to me by my sweet neighbors) and
it is the perfect size for storing whatever it is that I will need next to the glider. For weeks, I had been looking around thrift stores and antique stores for a little table and nothing even remotely decent was showing up, so getting this one for free was right up my alley.
Before:
A sanded down curb-side find. Missing a drawer.
After:
I removed the drawer rail and screws and painted the whole thing (inside and out) a steely gray. I thought about adding some hand painted details, but opted against that to cut down on it being too busy. For now it holds just a few things until I determine what the necessary essentials one needs next to a glider really are.
More soon,
L.

oh it looks lovely, what a great re-use of an unwanted piece of furniture!

i like the steely gray. and i think you're right, painted details may have been too much. it's delightful as is.

perfect find!
I always kept a big glass of water nearby, some extra bra/nursing pads (I was a leaker!) and some lansinol cream for those early days of nursing when you get a little chapped. A burp cloth or two are also handy dandy to keep nearby.
The nursey looks fantastic. You have me thinking about adding a few little additions to our nursery for number 2!

Cute table. I like the little shelf. I'd second the glass of water suggestion, and add chamomile tea and a fat book! You're going to be in that chair a lot :) I read *loads* while I nursed my babies.

Very cute table!! I like Vanessa's comment, yep, all those things, plus a good book to read to keep you awake when you're in the early morning hours and trying to establish a good nursing routine and I always loved using a boppy for nursing. It spares your arms and upper back the pain and strain in the beginning!

Yeah I love it that color - the cutouts are awesome, I do agree with your decision to leave it simple. Love the owl too!

So pretty. Some of my favorite pieces of furniture are the ones found on the street!
