Cute Overload

After getting an incredible 10 hours of sleep last night (thank you, Felix), I found some time today to begin going through all of my holiday photos. I am happy with many of the captures and I plan to show a few of Felix's very first Christmas/paperfest very soon. However, upon seeing the following shots, I couldn't restrain myself from sharing right away. So, I give you...baby cousins in a bubble bath at Grandma and Papa's house during Christmas vacation. Good times, especially for the doting Grandma who sat right next to the tub the entire time two nights in a row!

After a lovely trip to see family for the holidays, we flew home yesterday and were promptly smacked down by a terrible stomach bug. Smacked. Down. Dustin has experienced the worst of it -- he is still quarantined as I type this.  And to add insult to injury, this whole mess started around 3am, as if we needed another reason to become even more dreadfully behind in the sleep department around here! Other than a little ickiness, Felix and I are holding it together so far --fingers crossed this pesky virus hits the road soon. Oy...it has been a very long and exhausting day around here.

I'll be back with stories and photos from our travels soon. Now I must sleep.

I used paper culture for our holiday cards this year. It was so easy and we are very pleased with the final result (above is the proof they sent me).

and the stockings were hung...

It's a miracle that I actually finished the stockings for the newest additions to our family -- I cut it very close --but  they are done, and it felt so good to sit at my sewing machine working on a crafty project. Must do that again sometime soon...

I'm slowly making progress on my first hat and I'm having quite a bit of fun with it, though I do find knitting to be somewhat stressful at times. I hear feeling like this is normal. Sooner or later the hunched shoulders are going to relax...I just keep telling myself to be easy-going about the whole process...so what if I have to unravel it a little. So far so good, though. And lucky for me I have a really patient knitter teaching me the ropes (Thanks, Stephanie!)

Speaking of knitting and Stephanie, check out the cutie pie hat she made for Felix.

Swoon. It's a lovely red (we love red!), and made with super soft merino wool. 



She gave me the remaining yarn so I can make him a pair of matching mittens -- hoping to accomplish that sometime soon. We'll see...

We're keeping the holiday decorations extemely simple this year.  I put out the same few things I put out every year along with a little table-top tree. Felix and I managed to get a little crafty and create his very first homemade ornament for the tree. Okay, I did all of the work, but he posed for the photo. Martha gave me the idea for the project. It was simple and turned out pretty sweet. A good use for all the pine cones I can't resist picking up, too.

Fit for a King

 
Um...I really need to pick up the pace with my knitting because I think Felix could really rock a hat like this. Besides, it freezing out today, so something called a blizzard hat is definitely in order.

The knitting is going well, by the way.
