Our garden is about to burst with all kinds of colorful goodness. I'm so excited. The zinnias are going to bloom any minute now and the echinacea just began presenting us with several lovely pink blooms. Felix's sunflowers (he helped plant them) are up to my chin; reaching toward the sun more and more with every passing day. The fig tree is full of precious little green figs (can hardly wait for those!) and our many tomato plants -- some in pots on the back porch and several more out in the garden -- are starting to grow heavy with ripening cherry, black krim, and Italian heirloom tomatoes. The cucumber plants are full of fantastic yellow flowers as they creep across the garden path. I've already made a couple of batchs of pesto with our basil, and thanks to this super helpful tip I found on Pinterest, I have been able to harvest cilantro several times already. Take that you quick-to-seed cilantro plants. Still waiting for the pepper plants, parsley, lettuce, and several varieties of flowers (hollyhocks, calendula, foxgloves, to name a few) to do their thing. Summer gardening, I adore you. You are well worth the wait.

Leya
