Over the weekend...
We hosted some friends for dinner on Friday. I made tortilla soup and a giant salad. They brought a big plate of delicious shortbread cookies. In the past I have never thought to make shortbread. I will now. Those cookies were unforgettable.
Felix's friend from preschool had a bowling birthday party. Felix wasn't feeling awesome on Saturday (another cold! ack!) but we knew if we missed he'd be sooooo bummed. He bowled his heart out for about five frames before becoming completely zonked. It was fun while it lasted...then home for an early bedtime. On another note, how did my baby boy become such a big boy?! He'll be four in only 5 months...
Per usual, Romy ran his legs off this weekend. He covered every square inch of the bowling alley. He ran the length of it several times, with either Dustin or myself trailing behind. If left up to his own devices he would have barreled straight down the lanes toward the pins! He keeps us busy. And he's fast.
I finally got around to cleaning out the big box of dishes my grandmother gave me over ten years ago. Yep, I've been moving them for years. Some water got into our basement during a big rain the other day and the box became a soggy mess. Yuck. I'm happy to say that I managed to tackle the project and get everything unpacked and cleaned. Now I just need to figure out what to do with them. Wishing they were more my style...
The light that poured into our house was so good.
Many cafe au laits were made. I have a thing for them lately.
It was a lovely winter weekend (despite the cold virus that won't go away). Hope you enjoyed your weekend too.
