carry all.

Reversible_bag

I created this reversible tote a while back. You might recognize the fabric from two previous projects (here and here). There is something about warm weather that makes me reach for that green print -- it is definitely a favorite from my stash. Luckily there's a lot of it, so I can continue using it until I change my mind.

I'm hoping to add a few new totes to the shop very soon. I've been a lazy shopkeeper, but that is about to change.  Speaking of the shop, I've decided to put several handmade items and all remaining vintage on sale in honor of the glorious weather happening in Philly this week and a little something called Spring cleaning. Give it a look.

More soon,

It was a colorful weekend. We dyed eggs, something I haven't done in at least a few years. A big mess was made. Good times.

Oh, and a small pack of raccoons were created. Yep, that's right. Raccoons. They're cute and soft and full of personality.
Available now in the shop.

Have a good monday.

***update*** A group of Raccoons is called a nursery, not a pack. I learn something new every day.

What have I been up to? Oh nothing much, just sewing a bus load of eye masks. Well, that and making a few other things I've been meaning to tackle. I dropped several of my eye masks off at Art Star here in Philly today if you happen to live in the area and want one pronto.  I'm hoping to get some loaded in my shop very soon too. Speaking of the shop, I just added some vintage coats and jackets just in time for winter. It is winter, right? Actually, it's supposed to be cold here again real soon, so I should enjoy the warmth while it lasts.
Have fun out there.

More soon,

Does anyone out there in blogland have a copy of the September issue of Shojo Beat?
My obis are featured in it and I can not for the life of me get my paws on a copy. I've contacted customer service and the person who contacted me for use of my photos and have heard nothing at all.

If you have that issue and want to swap it for some Curiousbird or Babybird merchandise, please contact me at leya(at)curiousbird(dot)com.

Happy Monday,

Did you think I meant something else?

After a long time in the works, I'm thrilled to introduce a new line of infant and toddler items known as Babybird now available in the shop. Each and every item is handmade by me, which can mean sewn or drawn and hand-printed on soft tees, tanks and bibs. I mean, what little baby couldn't use a t-shirt with a couple of surly giraffes on the front...

Have fun,

Wow, what a week it has been.  I think it might classify as the fastest ever. Seriously.
It's a busy time -- lots of list-making and Renegade preparations, and even a wee bit of freaking out going on.  I know this isn't an advice column, which is a really good thing considering, but if I may share a few bits for the sake of sharing.  It is never wise to try to accomplish too much. It's crazy making and I never seem to learn (after years of telling myself I will). Here's the real advice I have. Never, and I mean never do back-to-back craft fairs, prepare to teach classes at a four week summer camp, AND plan a wedding all at the same time! It is completely nuts. It's waaay too much and I'm insane for not realizing it sooner. What on earth was I thinking?  Not the wedding part. No, no, not that part, just the other stuff. The getting married and planning a wedding part is great...it's just the other stuff all mixed in and stacked on top.

Actually, the wedding planning is moving along at an even pace, at least I think it is. We have about a zillion lists and yesterday we sat down and put deadlines on various tasks, which was helpful but kind of anxiety provoking (that isn't apparent at all, is it?)  With any luck, the invitations will be finished up in a week or two and once that happens I will feel a lot better. At least for a little while.

Have a sweet weekend. I'll be back next week sometime.
