you don't have to be sherlock holmes...

Motown2
here's another installment of Friday's With Motown. This shot was taken right after he had spent some time playing with the water in the sink. yes, he's one of those anomaly cats that loves water.  no, he doesn't love baths, he loves water, on his own terms. For instance, as soon as I get out of the shower, he jumps in (I'm always appreciative of that little bit of privacy he gives me). I bet he wonders how I always know when he's been on the kitchen counter. wet paw prints, my friend.
wet paw prints.

in crafty news, I'm in the middle of completing the last and final xmas gift. It bums me out that I can't post photos for fear of the receiver catching a glimpse. I suppose I will have several photos to post later on. speaking of photos, my new camera has arrived!! thank each and every one of you who purchased curious bird items over the last few months because you not only made me love what I get to do even more, but you purchased my camera for me. I will be forever grateful.  photos coming soon.

here are a few links I wanted to share.
beautiful hats
nice jewels. I like this in particular.
a project my friend Diana is involved with.

9 more days until mimosas in the morning...

dangerously close...

it's already Friday's with Motown. geesh...times flies when you're hunched over a sewing machine.

this shot is a perfect illustration of how when Motown wants your undivided attention he can be downright pushy. I love that.

Fall_bag_squares_2
here's a bag I just finished last night. I love how it turned out. very mod, if I do say so myself. one more bag down, three to go. I'm working dangerously close to my mail deadline here. fall la la la la

and lastly, I wanted to give an enormous "hooray" to my partner in crime for completing finals week and his next to last semester of graduate school. yipppeee! now we can eat dinner together again. anyhoo, he's the smartest and greatest and he's gonna make one hott doctor D. someday.

more adventures coming soon...

i heart mail. yes i do.

the UPS man made a quick stop by my house this morning and dropped off my brand new serger! I haven't opened it yet--I'm letting it settle in before I tear into
it and start trying to learn how to use it (hope it works out much better than my knitting fiasco). update: day three. no progress.
::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
there's only two more days until we hang the group show at the Electric Moustache. I'm not ready and frankly, I'm panicky. it will work out, I might just put one less piece in.
this is what my internal monologue keeps saying anyway...why on earth have I taken on all these projects at this time of year? I must be totally nuts. note to self: don't take on lots of projects during the busiest time of the year. don't do it. art shows are a definite no no.

in other mail news. here's a shot of the sweet letterpress postcard I received from maria overat port2port. very lovely indeed.

Porttoport_2

and from the very first installment of Fridays with Motown (not to be confused with Tuesdays with Morrie) motown enjoys his double-wide, catnip infused scratching post so much he takes naps on it. one-eyed naps. love that.
Motown_1

and one last ramble. remember when I mentioned that several of my night owl pillows were headed out to Wholly Craft? I heard today that each and every one sold out and more are desired. I'm pleased.
