It has been a loooong time since I sent off a roll of film for processing. I forgot how exciting it is to get the the envelope back and pour over the prints. Since it often takes me quite a while to shoot a roll of 36 exposures I am always surprised by the shots I had forgotten about. Film is such fun. I highly recommend giving it a go sometime. 

Here are a few of my favorites of our Miami trip back in January. More shots to share soon.

p.s. We had the whole place to ourselves because we wake up with the birds! This particular morning we had our breakfast and made it to the beach (a short drive from from our hotel) before the lifeguards started their 8am shift. Life with little ones...

oh my! my dad finished his dissertation! he still has to defend later this month, but holy moly he's well on his way.  I have missed him like crazy while he was away writing, but now he's going to be around more and I'm over the moon about that. totally making him take me to the aquarium...and the zoo...and on a hike...and to my favorite toy shop...and the pool...and...

Happy Mother's Day to all the wonderful moms out there, including my own and my dear mother-in-law.

More film shots from the roll I picked up last week. I love how these show Felix belly crawling his way around the playground. But as of the last week, our little boy is now longer a belly crawler! He has mastered crawling and is intent on using his new skill to explore every corner of our living room -- so far he hasn't figured out that he can also explore the dining room and kitchen. It's only a matter of time, though. Baby proofing the house has moved to the top of our to do list. Eeek!

I just picked up some film. These shots were taken at dusk so the light isn't the best, but I love them anyway.
Felix still takes a bath on the kitchen counter in his primo tub.  He gets to choose a wooden spoon each time, something he loves to do. What he doesn't love is the fact that we have to take it away when the bath is over. Those moments are always a little tricky.

Have a great weekend. We're off to the Hudson River Valley for a week-long vacation. Ahhhh...I cannot wait for our little family to get out of this hot city. I'll say hello and show some photos once we return.
