Hi there.
I'm feeling a little on the quiet side today, which probably has a lot to do with my staying up way later than usual last night. We had a great night out seeing Destroyer with some friends, beginning with a very  peculiar cab ride to the venue. I don't think I've ever experienced such strange driving habits...my friend quietly said, "I'm going to need a ginger ale after this ride", and I couldn't have agreed more.  Brake. Happy.

Destroyer was quite good, although I'm convinced that I'm getting too old for rock shows. Call me a granny, but I really wished I had a folding chair a couple of times during the show. That and some sensible shoes.

Next week is shaping up to be a nice color week around here. Several people are participating and I will be linking everyone on Monday. Feel free to join in anytime.
Looking forward.

Have a good weekend,
l.

all the bits of color around my house.

I always have fun stopping to take a look around my space. We like color, and I'm noticing we really like green, especially around/in our kitchen.

Anyone up for a color week sometime soon? I think I'll plan on doing one next week. Join in if you like.

Monday: Green (of course)
Tuesday: Yellow
Wednesday: Orange
Thursday: Pink/Red
Friday: Blue

Have a good day,
L.

p.s. I haven't forgotten the weekend project photos I mentioned the other day, I just keep getting distracted.

**For those unfamiliar with color week, here's a quick explanation. Every day of the week is dedicated to a color (see above) and participation only involves taking and posting photos that include the color of the day. The photo or photos can be of anything, although I think I'm going to focus on the colors found in my home. No rules, though. Hope that helps.**

Hints of Spring are starting to pop up everywhere. I made a trip to the nursery yesterday and left with a basket full of new plants. Can't wait to show off some of my newest purchases (the sun isn't cooperating yet)

Now if I can just get Motown to quit sampling everything...pesky plant nibbler.

In other news, I'm so excited to be taking the day off today. Dustin and I are leaving town for a hike in the Poconos.
Can't wait to get out there. Photos to come.

Have a great weekend,
Leya

let the sun shine in

All I needed was some warmth and sunshine, and today was brimming with both.

A good day indeed.

Happy Monday, ya'll

My grandmother made us a wonderful owl quilt. Yep, an owl quilt that's warm and cozy and covered in hand painted owls. Good grief, we feel lucky.

trees and beards

Hey there,

Lots going on today, but I wanted to pop in and show off the beginning of a little forest I've been working on. It's a paper and cardboard forest that's been on my mind for a while. I made these two large trees and have started a few more in smaller sizes. More cardboard needed stat.
I also wanted to show off my new bearded guy print (his name is Templeton). I finally managed to get him framed and displayed after way too long. He's a keeper. Ashley just made more of these bearded prints available, but they sell out super fast, so hurry if you want one.

Hope you had a nice Thanksgiving. We certainly did. Honestly, just thinking about it makes me want to have big feasts with friends as much as possible. I wonder if I could ever grow tired of cranberry sauce? Probably not.

Take care. I'll be back soon.

Hope you had a good week. Here comes the weekend, which I'm hoping is full of fun things like: seeing the Darjeeling Limited, taking my camera on a little photo search and maybe even a a fun sewing project or two.

Take it easy,

good morning, sleepy head

Goodmorning
can you find the white kitty in the sea of white bedding? of course you can...who could miss those pink ears. and for the record, if we stayed in bed all day, he wouldn't have much of a problem with it. he's a committed sleeper.

so hello there, it's already friday and in my opinion, that's just nuts. I've had a nice week -- the weather has been amazingly cooperative. I've been working, playing and eating numerous salads. My current favorite thing to do is make an amazing salad {sliced almonds are key} and then have some toast with fresh basil pesto on top. yes siree. I'm all about that combo.

hopefully this weekend will be productive, the plan is to finish only one clothing project for myself {I'm almost done with it}, but mostly I'm set on getting some serious work done for Art Star, which is just about a month away. I'm really looking forward to it -- last year was loads of fun. Also, my girl Aimee turns 30 on cinco de mayo!! A cause for celebration for sure.

have fun, friends
l.
