get serious

Scan_4

Happy Friday.

The Mr. and I found time to squeeze into a photo booth while out for a drink the other evening. I love photo booths, if for no other reason than the excitement I feel when I hear the strip being spit out --the waiting part is over once I hear the little blow dryer turn on. I'm not big on waiting.  My photo strip collection is getting huge. Perhaps one day I will create something with them...
In case you're curious, we always try to do a "serious face" pose, which is  what happens to be going on in picture number two. I know I look nuts, but I'm not nuts, I'm SERIOUS.

Have a great weekend,

Leya

spreadin' the news...

Announcement
From what I can tell, everyone has received the surprise piece of mail Dustin and I recently sent out, making it safe to do a little show and tell here on the blog.
Here's the skinny...when our lovely engagement adventure began{geesh, that was almost two months ago}, Dustin and I discovered a little something about ourselves. We discovered pretty quickly that we're not the type of people who feel all that comfortable calling everyone we know...ya know, announcing.  Don't get me wrong, we are extremely happy about being engaged, it's just that, well, I guess you could say we like to fly below the radar and making big announcements isn't really that easy for us. We knew we could depend on our families to spread the news to other family members and family friends, but what about all our friends scattered around the country? And who is going to get word all the way to India? After some time mulling it over, we decided a nice card would work best.
Below is what we created to do the job for us.{I'm certain Dustin will be just fine if he never sees another glue stick or tube of gocco ink}

{always a fan of the photo strip...we used it to tell the story}

{can you tell we're tired of moving? we are.}

I printed some text on the bottom portion of the card using my trusty gocco.  After a bit of teamwork, off they went...India is officially privy to our plans.

The weekend is finally here, too. I'm pretty happy about that, aren't you?

have yourself some fun,
l.

Mac happy

Oatmeal_for_lunch_1
Today I had oatmeal for lunch {it was cold, I was lazy}. And thanks to my lovely new Mac which came equipped with Photobooth, I was able to take this photo while I ate. In case you're wondering, I've been a sucker for photobooths for eons. My first photo strip was taken at Circus Circus in Vegas when I twelve and quite possibly the lankiest girl on earth. I remember very little about Circus Circus besides the photo booth, which is somewhat telling, don't ya think? Isn't Circus Circus supposed to be memorable?  I probably still have that photo strip somewhere...maybe I'll try to locate it.

Thanks to everyone who de-lurked. I am thrilled by the fact that each of you introduced yourself. It's great to know you're out there...and not only did I just get introduced to several cool people, but several cool people who have cool blogs I didn't know about. That is an added bonus.
More de-lurking is always welcome. I would love to hear from you. I'm giving it a go out in blogland myself.
