We painted "magic" sticks on the back deck early enough in the day that the mugginess didn't overwhelm us. Luckily, the pesky mosquitoes were slow to find us too.
Felix received his very own bird feeder and a big bag of bird seed for his birthday. We borrowed a ladder from our neighbor and hung it outside our living room window (on a pulley, no less!) so we can watch the birdies come and go as we play. So far we've seen tufted tit mice, cardinals, carolina wrens, and a few finches. One of the cardinals has some type of common mite, which has left him totally bald. He is certainly a strange looking fellow, but we still enjoy his visits.
Figs are coming along nicely. More this year than last.
My big boy loves potatoes for breakfast/lunch/dinner. He's a starch fiend.
Heather gifted Felix some window crayons and he's really into standing in the learning tower and filling the window with mostly yellow. I love seeing his drawing style evolve. Circles are very important to him right now.
My friend's cat got bit by a copperhead in her yard last week. Such a frightening reminder to keep an extra eye out and educate the kiddos about what to do should they encounter a snake.
My sewing machine is sitting on the dining room table. I have sewed a pair of pants for Roman and I am in the midst of cutting out a blouse for myself. Sewing has been calling my name lately. I miss it.
